Lorena Madrigal

I am a biological anthropologist who has done work on human microevolutionary changes from a variety of perspectives. My interest in the Center for Infectious Disease Ecology Research involves a project in Brazil. I currently work with colleagues at the department of anthropology in the University of Brasilia in a project on the health and disease of women living in a rural community without access to clean water. My former student Dr. Anna Rivara did her dissertation fieldwork in a Quilombo community, where she evaluated the interactions between growth, fertility and immune function.
